Financing Solar Energy

Conference Overview

It is predicted that by 2025, 10% of US electricity will come from solar energy. Today, that percentage is less than 1%, but the use of solar energy is on the rise, increasing at a rate of 40% annually over the past several years. Given the tremendous opportunities in the solar energy field and the fact that energy is one of the three major areas on which the Obama administration plans to focus, being a part of the solar energy movement is not only exciting but also one of the safest investments available in the energy arena today.

Recent legislation extended the Energy Credit by eight years, providing a 30% tax credit on investments in solar energy facilities, and the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act added a framework for converting these tax credits into federal grants for 2009 and 2010 facilities. America’s focus on the environment and its quest for alternative energy sources make being a participant in this field not only a good business decision, but good for the well being of the country and the world, as well.
