About the City
Boston, first
incorporated as a town in 1630, and as a city in 1822, is one of America's
oldest cities, with a rich economic and social history. What began as a
homesteading community eventually evolved into a center for social and
political change. Boston has since become the economic and cultural hub of New
England.
As the region's hub, Boston is home to nearly 590,000 residents, many
institutions of higher education, some of the worlds finest inpatient
hospitals, and numerous cultural and professional sports organizations.
Boston-based jobs, primarily within the finance, health care, educational, and
service areas, numbered nearly 660,000 in 2002. Millions of people visit Boston
to take in its historic neighborhoods, attend cultural or sporting events, and
conduct business.

Airport(s)
Boston - Logan International Airport
Logan International Airport (BOS) is located in East Boston, serving the city
and, for international flights, the greater New England area. America's sixth
busiest airport, Boston Logan Airport handles domestic flights and
international connections to and from Europe, the Pacific Rim and Latin
America.
Boston Logan Airport has five terminals, with airport transit facilities and
parking. The airport's longer-term plans include a new runway to reduce flight
delays.
Boston Logan Airport is served by eight major car rental firms. Connected to
the airport terminals by frequent free shuttle buses, the car rental companies
have booths located in the arrivals hall in Terminal A.
Boston Logan Airport operates short-term 'Central', valet and disabled
passenger parking. Long-term, or 'Satellite', parking is located off the
airport and this is connected by a free shuttle bus to all the terminals.
Directions: Logan International Airport and Route 1A
South: Follow the signs towards I-90 West - Ted Williams Tunnel. Take the Ted
Williams Tunnel to Exit 25. At the top of the ramp proceed straight onto B
Street. Follow B Street to the end and take a right onto Seaport
Boulevard. The Seaport Boulevard entrance to the Seaport Garage will be
on your right. |
